California Crush
Audrey and Max, and we can't forget Ogre. Yes, Ogre!
We met Audrey through a referral (holler I Do OBX Weddings!) and we began gushing over wedding details in mid October. These West Coast sweeties were in need of full service wedding planning and we were lucky enough to be the perfect match. We tasted delicious food options together and assisted on deciding everything regarding their big day down to the perfect panama natural napkin. We also discussed the trials and tribulations of owning businesses, raising children, family dynamics, basketball - we just talked about life. After only meeting Audrey, Max and sister Karen (nicknamed Ogre since childhood) once in person, by the time April rolled around we felt like old friends.
Audrey and Max were married on a well deserved, gorgeous Spring day. The kind of day worthy of lemonade on the front porch in a rocking chair. A sweet, southern, rock me Mama like a wagon wheel kind of day. Their ceremony was held on the third level oceanfront deck of The Atlantis event home in Kill Devil Hills, NC. With under sixty guests in attendance it was an intimate affair. Though not everyone could be there in person, the couple live streamed the wedding to over fifty more attendees back in their production office in California.
The reception was held in the backyard of the home under a clear top tent adorned with cafe string lighting, cozy lounge seating, family style wooden farm tables, topped with burlap runners, modern place settings, and lush green and white boxed florals. The pool was surrounded by wine barrel hightop tables, oversized balloons flowing in the wind, and scattered signage reminding you that what happens tonight will be on Facebook tomorrow, and no good story ever started with someone eating a salad. You could grab a beer from the galvanized buckets, or enjoy a cocktail from the vintage style bar. The feel encompassed Audrey and Max to a tee. Sophisticated and classy, yet fun and laid back.
Though the details are endless for this one; Audrey's stunning gown with blush underlay, Max's black "Game Over" teeshirt, the tearful speeches, the T-Rex guest.........Nothing will top the joy of working with the Johnson's. Thank you for your endless kind words, your invaluable encouragement and advice in business, and your pure joy in finally becoming husband and wife after ten years! It's funny how a long string of emails can lead to a lifelong friendship. We are forever grateful.
Please enjoy a few of their breathtaking wedding photos and killer wedding video!
