Country Club Ceremony

Who agrees that there is a difference between "beachy" and "nautical"? Don't get us wrong both can be done beautifully and it's your wedding so you do you girl, but those who are going nautical usually aren't trying to be beachy. Lucky for us, we had a client that perfected classic nautical.

This brings us to Ashlyn and Chris. When we think of these two, two words come to mind: Power couple. They are both smart, organized, funny, good looking and in love with each other! And like the smart choice of choosing to spend their lives with one another, they also chose an amazing venue for their wedding day. The Currituck Club in Corolla is one of our faves (cough cough, Taylor hosted her reception there!) It's a beautiful country club that offers an all inclusive style service for couples. They have multiple different event spaces, a waterfront ceremony space, a trolley to transport guests, catering, bartending, a dance floor, linens, a bridal suite, and the list goes on. The best part about the back patio and veranda area of the club is that it's large, with a neutral color scheme, so if you're a bride that wants to really customize the look of your wedding it's a great option for you. You can rent a tent, or use the veranda, the upstairs lounge...we could go on and on!

After chatting over Skype, the couple booked us for a custom day of coordination package (day of coordination with a few additional a la carte add-on services). From the initial meeting we knew these two had a vision and with Ashlyn's planning skills and her mom's creativity and talent, it was going to come to life beautifully.

The two were married on a pristine day in September. We're talking all the sunshine and weather temps you can dream of. With a guest count of almost 150, they decided to take advantage of the expansive back patio area of the club to rent a tent where the guests could enjoy appetizers and have dinner, and then use the veranda for the band and dancing. The ladies got ready in the private bridal suite at the club, while the guys used the men's locker rooms.

After a breathtaking ceremony on hole # 7, guests were transported back to the club via trolley, where they could grab a handmade coaster with their names engraved on them (made by the bride herself)! These posed as a favors as well as seating arrangements! Guests then continued on to enjoy cocktail hour outside, before moving underneath the expansive reception tent. Guest tables were a mix of long rectangles and large circles. With white linens, navy napkins, blue glassware, and an overload of fresh hydrangeas, the scene was preppy perfect!

Guests enjoyed great food (the bride even had her own personal pizza - our kind of girl!), drinks by the fire pits, live music, tasty cake, and hilarious speeches. What else do you need?! The night ended after a breathtaking sunset and sparkler send off.

Ashlyn and Chris, thank you for choosing us to be your coordinators! It was such a joy to work collectively with you and your family, and see your vision and hard work come to life. We know you two will have a long, happy, successful marriage, just by witnessing the way you interact with one another and the support system you have behind you. We think it might just be the icing on the cake that you're going to be parents! We couldn't think of two more deserving, loving parents to be! We wish you all the best when you finally welcome your baby boy this May. PS - your gender reveal on the beach brings us to tears! PSS- Ashlyn, we still talk about your dreamy wedding dress!
